Stovetop Playdough Recipe

  • 1 c. flour

  • ½ c. salt

  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar

  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

  • 1 c. water

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly. Add water and oil and stir into dry ingredients. Stir over medium heat for several minutes until mixture forms into a ball. Let cool in bowl. Knead until smooth, Store in an airtight container.

Kool-Aid Playdough Recipe

  • ½ c. salt

  • 2 ½ c. flour

  • 1-2 pkgs Kool-Aid

Mix above ingredients. Add 3 tbsp. oil and 2 cups of boiling water. Store in an airtight container. 

Add the following materials for open-ended play!

  • Sticks & stones

  • Beads & buttons

  • Kitchen utensils (rolling pin, garlic press, etc.)

  • Small animal figures

  • Leaves

  • Pipe cleaners

  • Shells
