WILD CHILD: Can you take a sound walk?

A child's legs are visible wearing pink and blue boots. The child is standing in a pile of dried fallen leaves.

This week at our WILD CHILD outdoor playgroup, we focused on slowing down and exploring deeply.

Autumn is the perfect time to help your little one notice all the ways they can sense the world. They can see the colours of the leaves and meadow flowers, they can smell the ripe apples and flower blossoms, and they can hear the crunch of their steps and calls of animals.

This weekend, take time to slow down and notice together. Can you hear the Jay’s calling? The leaves rustling? Squirrels clambering in tree branches?

When you notice a sound stop and listen together. Can your child describe what they hear? Where they hear it? or Guess who made the sound?
