WILD CHILD: Embracing Winter

As winter moves in it can be tempting to hunker down and hibernate until warmer temperatures return. But doing that means missing some of the most magical play opportunities of the year. Only by risking that discomfort in the cold can we build snowman, laugh as we throw snow balls, experience the deep peaceful quiet of lying in freshly fallen snow, or appreciate coming into a warm space and enjoying a warm drink.

Over the pandemic more and more people rediscovered playing outside in winter and recent Canadian research has show that extra outside time has big benefits for health and well-being of adults and children.

We will be sharing some of our favourite winter adventures to inspire you to head outside and try new things or revisit old favourites.
